Gareth Myatt was a youngster who died during a seated restraint in a Secure Training Centre.

Dr Tony Bleetman was engaged initially by the Police and later by the Youth Justice Board to assist in the investigation and then advise in the preparation of a revised physical intervention package supported by enhanced training across the organisation and later nationally. This included the dangers associated with restraint and the search for safer alternatives to include behavioural approaches where possible.
